An investigation is underway after suspicious charges were discovered in the Avalon police pension fund, reports KDKA.
Two transactions that were made from the pension fund in June triggered the investigation to take place.
Avalon Borough Police Chief Thomas Koskoski said the two June transactions appeared to be suspicious. Koskoski then informed the Allegheny County police general investigators unit to help him get to the bottom of the matter.
These questionable transactions combined to total $100,000.
The pension fund has been frozen to avoid any other issues until the investigation is complete.
