The accident happened around 11:30 a.m. on Murray Avenue, near the intersection with Bartlett Street, on Monday.
Adam Brandolph, a Port Authority spokesman, said an inbound 61C bus struck the back of a car, which caused the vehicle to hit the car in front of it.
WTAE reports a child was placed onto a stretcher in front of a Giant Eagle supermarket and placed into an ambulance.
Brandolph said eight people were taken to a local hospital with injuries that were believed to be minor.
