Attempted robbery at gunpoint results in crash and 3 arrests

A frightened man called 911 from his vehicle, while trying to speed away from the 3 men in the car behind him who allegedly tried to rob him at gunpoint.

The 19 year-old victim drove from Manchester, where police say the attempted robbery occurred on Tuesday.

According to WPXI, the victim was seeking workers to paint his house via Craigslist. While the victim and suspects were working out a deal, reportedly, one of the suspect’s pulled a gun on the victim. He said he had no money on him and that the men threatened to kill him. Allegedly, the suspects ordered the victim to get in his vehicle and lead them to get money. That’s when the victim contacted police at about 5:03 p.m. from his car.

Authorities intercepted the vehicles near Beaver Avenue and Chateau Street, then the 3 suspects in the car sped away, eventually crashing at Light Hill and Reedsdale Street near the Rivers Casino.

The suspects were taken into custody and identified as 22-year-old Aaron Lyons of Swissvale, 29-year-old George McIntosh of East Liberty, and 24-year-old Juwan McIntosh of East Liberty.

No one was injured in the accident, according to police.

Authorities discovered a stolen gun in the suspect’s car and police say, their charges include robbery, conspiracy, and possession of a firearm with an altered serial number. Lyons faces additional charges including, person not to possess a firearm, fleeing and alluding police, resisting arrest, driving without a license, and reckless driving.
