Boy dies in ATV accident

An 8-year-old boy died after wrecking his ATV in Penn Hills, says WPXI.

According to Channel 11’s news partners at TribLive, the boy was riding an ATV at his home on Hershey Road Tuesday morning when it apparently “upset” and rolled on top of him.

The boy’s family released the boy’s name, Cody Allen Trim.

His grandmother, who was watching nearby, called 911 once she noticed her grandson was laying under the ATV.

Cody’s father, Jason Trim, expressed his sorrow for losing his son.

“He was a happy baby. He was everything anybody could dream of for a boy,” Cody’s father said. “Just love your kids because you don’t know how long you’ll have them until they’re gone.”

Penn Hills police Chief Howard Burton told reporters the boy was rushed to UPMC Children’s Hospital and died at the hospital.

An autopsy will be released Wednesday.
