Church flooding not covered because of "Act of God"

An insurance company says damage caused by flood waters at a Connellsville church will not be covered.

Connellsville Church of God sits on a hill, but flooding backed up drains.  The water forced an outside wall to collapse, sending 4 feet of water into the fellowship hall.

Church Mutual Insurance, the insurance company of the church, told church officials that the damage would not be covered because it was considered an act of God, according to WTAE.

Volunteers came together Wednesday to clean up mud and removed destroyed property from the church.

Church services will be held in the church’s gymnasium because weight can’t be put on the sanctuary above the fellowship hall.
