Crew pulls vehicle from Allegheny River at Springdale Marina

Police investigate Springdale Marina following reports of a car in the water.

Police have confirmed that a car was submerged in the Allegheny river, reports WPXI.

The Monroeville and Murrysville dive teams were called to the marina to search for the car in the water.

A tow truck was called to remove the car from the river.  Rescue workers set up tarps after the vehicle was pulled out of the water.

Investigators say a man on a boat with SONAR reported the car in the water.

Officials do not know whether anyone was inside or how long the car could have been there.

The Springdale boat launch is closed.
