Cyber-Charter founder pleads guilty to tax fraud

The founder and former CEO of the Pennsylvania Cyber Charter School has pleaded guilty to federal tax fraud.

Nick Trombetta, 61, reportedly took tax dollars away from the charter school and used the money to fund a lavish lifestyle.

Prosecutors say most of the money was tucked away in a shell company for his retirement, reports WTAE.

According to KDKA,  even though Trombetta has entered a guilty plea, the prosecution and defense were at odds for several hours until details were worked out and the judge has accepted.

He will be sentenced on December 20th and faces up to five years in prison.
