Dead bodies found in Butler County home identifed

Two people were found dead in an apparent murder-suicide Thursday morning. Officials say a man allegedly shot his ex-wife because he was upset that she was going to start dating.

Buffalo County Coroner’s office says he pronounced 43-year-old Lee Anne Negley and 44-year-old Todd Negley at 10:45 a.m. Their bodies were found in the basement of a home in the Chesterfield Estates housing plan off Route 228.

Lee Anne Negley’s mother was the one who first discovered the bodies when she went to the home to pick her daughter up for a doctor’s appointment, according to police.

Police told KDKA they believe Todd Negley was supposed to be returning their daughters to his ex-wife, but he instead fatally shot her then killed himself.  The children were not present during the shooting.
