Fayette County commissioner's wife charged with shooting husband

The wife of a Fayette County commissioner is charged with shooting her husband, per WTAE. Police were called to a shooting involving Fayette County commissioner, Vincent Vicites, 56, at the house he shares with his wife, Deanna Vicites, 47, on Crestvue Drive at 1 a.m. Sunday morning.

Police have formally charged Deanna Vicites with attempted homicide and related offenses.

District Attorney Rich Bower scheduled a press conference about the shooting and case against Deanna Vicites Monday morning for 11 a.m.

According to a mutual friend of commissioner Dave Lohr and Vicites, Vincent says the shooting was an accident.

The commissioner was airlifted to Ruby Memorial Hospital and was last reported to be in good condition.

Vicites, who is a Democrat from Uniontown, spent four terms serving as a commissioner (1996 to 2011). He returned to run again last year and won a seat in November.
