Brandi Weaver-Gates, 24, a former Miss Pennsylvania U.S. International pageant winner, was sentenced on Tuesday, reports WJAC-TV reports.
She pleaded guilty last month to several theft-related charges. She reportedly told a judge at the time that she faked the illness to get attention from her family.
Weaver-Gates has been in jail since August and that time will be credited toward her sentence.
Authorities believe she conned at least 165 into donating $30,000 from fundraising events since August 2013.
Weaver-Gates must repay the money and spend five years on probation.
