Police are investigating a robbery involving two impatient robbers that stole from a Family Dollar in Lawrenceville.
The robbery happened 11:50 p.m. on Wednesday at the store on 56th street.
An employee told police he was leaving after closing the store when two suspects jumped from the bushes and pointed a gun at him.
The employee says the suspects forced him to open the store and go to the safe.
As the employee attempted to open the safe, the suspects became impatient and decided to rip the safe from the floor bolts. They attempted to open the safe, but failed.
According to police, they also attempted to open multiple cash registers but did not succeed.
The employee told officers the two suspects took his wallet and cell phone before leaving the scene on foot.
The suspects were described as black males wearing all black with masks and gloves on. They are believed to be between 18 and 25 years old. One is described as approximately 6’2” and the other as 5’11”.
