Pittsburghers gathered to witness a local magician, Lee Turbosic, recreate a stunt performed by Harry Houdini on it’s 100th anniversary.
At the corner of Liberty Avenue and Wood Street, Turbosic attempted to escape a straight jacket while hanging upside-down 90 feet in the air.
Houdini successfully pulled off the same routine, on the same corner in Pittsburgh, on November 6, 1916.Arron Anastasia sent RabbleVID video of people waiting to witness the stunt and enjoying entertainment featuring DJ Scottro.
Turbosic completed the “death defying” stunt in about 6 minutes.
Pittsburgh Mayor Bill Peduto has officially declared Sunday, November 6th, “Lee Terbosic Day”.
