Man flown to hospital following dog attack

A Bell Township man was taken to the hospital Saturday morning after he was reportedly mauled by his pit bull.

The attack was reported around  3 a.m. at a home on Route 286.  According to police, the man suffered severe lacerations from the 60-pound dog.

According to WPXI, officers who responded to the attack used a Tazer, Mace and batons on the dog, which ran into a wooded area.

The dog was found Saturday evening.

The condition of the man attacked has not been released.
