Man killed in dirt bike crash in Penn Hills

 

Authorities in western Pennsylvania say a man died of injuries after a dirt bike crash in Penn Hills.

Penn Hills police said 48-year-old Chester Gaunt and his 14-year-old son were riding in the Gascola slag dump area.

Chief Howard Burton said Gaunt swerved to avoid a collision with another rider from the opposite direction, and both riders crashed, reports WPXI.

Gaunt was taken to Forbes Hospital in Monroeville, where he was pronounced dead at about 5 p.m.

The other rider was taken to a hospital with a broken arm.

The Allegheny County medical examiner plans to perform an autopsy .

Police are investigating the accident.
