Morgantown experiences fatal shooting

Morgantown, West Virginia was the scene of a deadly shooting Thursday night, according to the Dominion Post.

Two people were shot and one was killed when shots were fired near the Dollar General on High Street in downtown Morgantown at about 9 p.m.

Lemir Ryvel Baker-Moore, 21, has been arrested and charged with homicide.

The victim. whose name is not being released at this time, was airlifted to Ruby Memorial Hospital, but was pronounced dead soon after arriving.

Another victim was found several streets away bleeding, David Annonio, 21, was also rushed to Ruby Memorial Hospital and is undergoing treatment for a gunshot wound to his leg.

Baker-Moore remained at-large for several hours following the shooting.

West Virginia University police alerted students of the incident and updated the situation through Twitter.

The West Virginia State Police and Monongalia County Sheriff’s Department both worked together to catch the suspect.
