Pedestrian killed on Parkway East identified

The man that was pronounced dead after he was struck by a car on Parkway East on Friday has been identified.

Officials told KDKA, Parker Rhoades, 21, from Syracuse, New York, was trying to cross the highway around 1 a.m. when he was struck by a vehicle.

Rhoades was struck in the eastbound lane.  The vehicle involved did not stop, and the driver has not been found.

The cause of death has been determined to be blunt impact injuries to head, torso and extremities.
