Penn Hills house catches fire

A Penn Hills house caught fire early Monday morning, reports WPXI. Around 4 a.m. fire fighters were called to Whiteoak Drive in Penn Hills’ Rosedale neighborhood for a house fire.

Officials believe no one was inside the home while it burst into flames.

As a precaution, neighbors nearby were temporarily evacuated from their homes.

One neighbor told a Channel 11 reporter the fire next door woke him up.

“I woke up to some loud noise, some commotion. Originally thought someone was breaking into my house, so I looked out the window and I saw it, the house next door right there just completely up in flames,” Alex Rodky said.

The cause of the fire is currently unknown and the Penn Hills Fire Marshal is investigating.
