Police arrest and charge man accused of robbing two banks

A man who robbed two banks in two days has been arrested on Friday.

The Pittsburgh Bureau of Police Violent Crime Unit has arrested and charged Wallace Banks, 34, of Braddock in connection with two recent bank robberies.

Banks is accused of robbing the WesBanco on Middle Street in the North Side on August 15, and the Huntington Bank on Smithfield Street Downtown on August 16.

He has been charged with two counts of robbery.

After being treated at a local hospital for a preexisting injury, authorities transported Banks to the Allegheny County Jail.
