Police bring charges against man accused of killing Jefferson Hills motel owner

A man who was allegedly using methamphetamine reportedly shot and killed a motel owner in a robbery attempt last May.

TribLive reports that Allegheny County police filed charges Friday, August 26, 2016 against 50 year-old, Derrick “Chino” Gallaway in connection with the case.

According to police, Gallaway shot Jefferson Hills motel owner, Dehnad “Chief” Taiedi in the head during a struggle at the motel.

The surveillance camera was missing when first responders arrived at the crime scene.

Gallaway is charged with homicide, robbery, illegal gun possession, theft and tampering with evidence.

According to TribLive, Gallaway “remained at-large as of Saturday.”
