Police: DirecTV employee arrested for stealing from customer

Police say a DirecTV employee was arrested after he was caught stealing from a customer at a home in Adams Township in Butler County.

Debbie Nunis-Westscott told WPXI that the employee came to her home, taking jewelry and money.

“Half the change was gone, so right then and there I knew,” Nunis-Westscott said.

Investigators found some of the jewelry scattered in Nunis-Westscott’s backyard.

Police say the man is being held on a warrant for a similar crime out of West Virginia.

DirecTV says it is investigating and cooperating with authorities, reports WPXI.  The company said it requires all employees to undergo background checks, and that employees of any third-party vendors are required to do the same.
