Police swarm East End Motel

The East End Motel in Monroeville was the scene of an incident with about a dozen police officers Tuesday. Channel 11’s Melanie Gillespie reports the officers had riffles drawn at the motel near Route 22 of the Pennsylvania Turnpike.

A man came out of one of the rooms with his hands up before kneeling on the ground as police placed handcuffs on him, according to WPXI.

Once the man was taken into custody, police went the rooms to search.

There were no apparent injuries, even though an ambulance was waiting at the scene.

It’s believed the ambulance was waiting in case anything escalated  between the officers and the suspect.

The name of the man who was arrested has not been released.
