President Trump arrived in storm ravaged Puerto Rico Tuesday, and spent his time touring the devastation and meeting with local officials.
In this video posted by the Associated Press, President Trump praises the hard work of everyone involved in the relief efforts.
The POTUS was publicly complimentary of Governor Ricardo Rosselló and said, “He didn’t play politics at all.”
President Trump also compared Hurricane Maria relief efforts to Hurricane Katrina relief efforts.
“Every death is a horror,” he said, “but if you look at a real catastrophe like Katrina and you look at the tremendous, hundreds of and hundreds and hundreds of people that died, and you look at what happened here …nobody’s ever seen anything like this.”
Pittsburgh is making its’ contribution to Maria relief efforts through Pirates Charities by donating water, nonperishable food, diapers, batteries, pet food and more.
The Associated Press reports that Hurricane Maria impacted 3.4 million people, and that the death toll stands at 16. “95 percent of electricity customers remain without power, including some hospitals.”
