SWAT called to North Fayette

A SWAT situation in North Fayette Township evacuates a neighborhood early Monday morning, reports WPXI.

The SWAT (Special Weapons And Tactics) was called to Hawthorne Circle after a 24-year-old man was shooting bullets out of his bedroom window.

The incident occurred at around 2 a.m. and lasted several hours.

Police surrounded a townhouse with guns drawn, including officers patrolling the street with riffles. Police tried to communicate with someone inside the home.

Many residents left their homes to see what was going on in their otherwise peaceful luxury townhome development. Any resident who attempted to check on what was happening was promptly ordered to go and wait in the community center building and others received a command to stay inside.

The suspect’s name has not been released, but police have filed charges and a psych evaluation has been ordered.
