Police say a woman will be charged with aggravated assault after her baby was injured outside Giant Eagle Market District in Shadyside.
According to police, the incident happened when a mother, 20-year-old Tyla Evans, was with her 4-month-old child in the parking lot.
The mother apparently leaned forward until she fell to the ground with the baby under her, reports WTAE.
The infant was taken to Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC. The baby’s condition is unknown.

A 911 call indicated the baby was thrown, but officials said there is no evidence that Evans threw her baby to the ground.
Evans will also be charged with endangering the welfare of a child.
Police said the accident is under investigation.
According to a criminal complaint obtained by Channel 11’s Cara Sapida, when an officer asked Evans why she left her baby, she said, “Nobody is left behind.”
