To update a previous story, police have arrested the suspect in Monday night’s shooting on Arlington Avenue. A teen cries while confessing to police he shot and killed his longtime friend.
Kenneth Murphy, 18, told police he was playing with a gun when it accidentally went off and shot Christopher Rodriguez, 20, four times, including in the face. Murphy claims he thought the gun was unloaded. The two had been friends for years.
Reports are Murphy went over Rodriguez’s house Monday night to buy a gun when the incident occurred.
After the shooting, Murphy left the scene. He later confessed to his girlfriend, according to the police report.
Murphy is being charged with homicide.
