Vacant house catches fire

A vacant home caught fire in Unity Township Thursday morning.

According to WTAE, the fire broke out shortly after 3:30 a.m. at the home on Route 982 near American Legion Road.

One neighbor commented on witnessing the fire at the empty house.

“My husband is a fireman, and he happened to say, ‘Hey, the next door house is on fire,'” said neighbor Angela Roseboski. “I looked out the window, and it was a huge, orange glow.”

Investigators are unsure what caused the fire because no one has lived in the house since the last tenants moved out 7 months ago.

There were no injuries as a result of the house fire.

The house has been destroyed.
